Snuffelbox, sounds great doensn't it?? I've been ordering the Woefbox for a while, and after 4 boxes I had a lot of treats for my dogs, that's cool ofcoarse but I don't want my dogs to be fat, so I decided to just quit the Woefbox.

Now I was almost finished with all the treats from the box, I found on the internet a similar kinda box, called Snuffelbox!!!! I got curious of it, so I decided to check it out.

Fun thing is, the Snuffelbox gives some percentage of the income to great sources like shelters and stuff, so while ordering a box, everytime I will give to charity aswell!
On the other hand it is a bit more expensive then the Woefbox, so that is a consideration.
With ordering I could say if I wanted to order for a small, medium, large or giant breed, so that is very handy also, and I could order it for one month, every month, or every tide of the year.

Now letts go and see what is in the box!!!

1 jar of premade icepopcicles for the doggies!!!

4 in 1 game

Today I tried the 4 in 1 game that I bought yesterday, at first I put treats in the easy side of the puzzle. For Dita, was this too easy, so I decided to turn the puzzle around, and did a variation.
That was for Dita also a bit to easy.

I tried to let Vivien and Judy do the puzzle also, it was so funny, they are soo quick, I placed the treats under the most difficult to reach places.

Only Scarlett was a bit confused, she doesn't really like this stuff, she always looks at me like, just give me the coockie, why must I go look for it. But with some happy talking we managed it. She puzzled all the coockies out of the puzzle, and she was wagging her tail when I told her she was a good girl. Maybe one day she will think doing a game is fun.

What I found of the 4 in 1 game? For our dogs it's to easy, but on the other hand my youngsters are just beginners and I didn't give this game to them, so we must try if it is more for them.

I made this cute cool little filmclips of Dita whi…

Spoiling the dogs???

Ok, on some days, things don't go as you want to. Today was a day like that. So when I drove home from my job I had to go by the Welkoop, that is an agriculture store in the Netherlands. Actually I didn't need anything. I have toys, enough treats, nothing was really eaten, gone and empty, so why should I even go.
I don't know, some people will buy shoes, or eat chocolate, and I like to spoil the dogs.

The first thing I bought was really a treat, especially for Vivien, it is a puzzle. And according to the box it is a 4 in 1 puzzle, so in the upcoming days I'm gonna figure out how that will work. And hopefully I can make a nice picture of a videoclip of it.

Second thing and third, I bought, are 2 teethcleaning products. Maybe that is not really something the dogs think of being spoiled, but it will benefit to their health.  Because of petsmile month, I wanted to buy it now and try it. Hopefully I will see results before the month is over. I still have my denti fresh teet…

Pet smile month Dentastix

I think every one has heard of Dentastix by Pedigree, and for Pet smile month I'm writing a little review on them!
I don't give my dogs Dentastix very often, I think this is a great product when you have small dogs, but with those big collie and borzoi mouths it does not really do the trick.
When they get one it is mostly within 1 minute completely gone and I really don't think there are any benefits in easing a Dentastix within a minute. I don't believe the teeth are really cleaned then. But they just love them. The taste is super. The dogs even will do little tricks when they get one, so for the taste I think it will be a 9 out of 10.
Maybe for smaller breeds it will work, but I will keep continuing teethbrushing instead of switching completely over to Dentastix. But I will sure buy them every now and then, just for a treat.

Dental care Pet smile month

Because of pet smile month I wanted to do some reviews on products to keep dogteeth clean.
One of my favorite is a discontinued produkt by a British company called Hatchwells.
The product is called Denti Fresh tooth whitening powder. As the name suggests it is a powder.

You can use it very easily on a toothbrush. There are special toothbrushes for dogs in store, but you can also use a regular one for humans. When our dogs where still puppy I always used  a childrenstoothbrush, and I switch to a big toothbrush when they are almost fully grown.

With this powder you just wet the brush and dip in into the powder, and start brushing the teeth. As mentioned in a previous post, this can be bit of a struggle, so try to keep calm, and start brushing your dogs teeth when he is just a little puppy.
I myself start doing this when they are about 12 weeks of age. Also I can keep track of the period of changing their first teeth for their grown up teeth.

If you do this regularly your dog will have …

Pet smile month

It is this month pet smile month, and I think that is a great thing. Ofcoarse it is not only about a sweet smile you animal gives you, in my case the dogs, but it's all about dental health, and dental care.

As a person who goes to dogshows, I wan't a big row of shiny white teeth for the Judge, but that is not all. Bad teeth, and gums can lead to all kinds of diseases, even heart diseases!!!
So it is not only for cosmetic reasons you clean your dogs teeth, it is also for their health, and that is what we all want.
And a dog with a bad breath is also not very nice, but he can't help it.

What I do is, I clean my dogs teeth every other day, with a toothbrush and dog toothpolish, you may never ever use toothpolish that is designed for humans. A lot of dogtootpolishes have nice flavour so the brushing could be made a little bit easier.
I must say that when you train your dog with toothbrushing when he is still a little puppy it wil go more easy then with a grownup, who is not …

National dog week

It's National dog week... For me it is always dogweek, dogday, dogmonth, dogyear. So did I do something special during this dogweek? Well not really, but I had a week of, from my job, so the dogs got more attention this week, so maybe it was a little bit of a special dogweek.

I know the week is not yet over, and there is more to come, but we already did some nice things together. We have been on long walks, not in the forest of Gasterlân this time, last time I went there, I touhgt there where no ticks, but I found many many of them few days after.

I've been thinking of new puzzles for the doggies, and tried some of them out, and I already blogged about one. I tought Lucky how to fetch a coockie, yay!!!! he loves it, and it makes me so happy to see him so attentive with his asking eyes for more.

And being at home from work means ofcoarse more hugs and kisses, so they had a big share of it.
For me it is not special to treat my dogs with a lot of love and affection, I simply do i…

Cheap and easy DIY doggame

To train the brain of our dogs, I try to give them some doggames every now and then.
Ofcourse fysical training is superb for dogs, esspecially the large breeds we have, but it is also very important to get their brains going too.

Ofcourse I have a few awsome puzzles for them, and they enjoy them very much, but with some cheap material you can make your own puzzels and riddles yourselve.

Because we just went crocery shopping I looked for several sizes of cardboard boxes, I knew there would be something fun to do with that. At home I looked and found another smal box, and I still had some doggiechocolate (beware, never gives dogs chocolate that is not specificly made of dogs, normal chocolate will kill your dog)
I put the boxes in some possition and placed the doggiechocolate underneat it. Then today Anna our borzoi girl was the lucky one to try this fun game out.

She is used to puzzle so within 1 minute she was finished with it, so I think this is a beginner game, and I will try to do…

No September Woefbox

What??..... No september woefbox??
Well no, it was actually this simple, I love to spoil my dogs, I really do, but, there was such an overload on goodies and treats, that I actually started to make them fat.
And that is not good ofcoarse. When my last woefbox arived I didn't even gave them all the treats that where in the box of a month before.
So I decided to skip just one month, and see what is left of all the goodies. If all is eaten and gone, and it seems the dogs are not growing fat, I will again order a new woefbox, because I find it so much fun to unpack it.
The subscribtion to woefbox is also 3 in a row, and then it stops. My first box was bought on the Animal event so I had 4 months in a row.
It looks now that at the end of this month most of the goodies are given, and I can take a new subscribtion again, if not then maybe in november.

So no woefbox, but who knows...

The collie standard by Mia Ejerstad

Another great book, and I happen to be the lucky girl who has both of her books. It is the same, but the small one is the first one she published and the larger one is the new revisited one.

Why is this book a great one??? Well this one will explain with picutres to go with it, how the ideal collie should look. All parts of the collie come along while you read this book. Headtypes, what is a perfect shape of a head, what is acceptable, and various faults, in bigger and lesser degree. But also how angulation needs to be in front and back, and what is an acceptable tail! I think that it is very nice that all ellements come in to vision with many drawings,  because while explaining a form in letters, it is far more easy to see for youselve on a picture.

Many beautifull drawing from the hand of Mia are in this book, she really knows how to capture the beauty of the collie and make the standard of our breed into vision.
I do go over this book so many times, and it gives me a clear view of …
